Zzzzzzz......

Working 12 hour shifts is exhausting!  Plus, they are even more exhausting when they are night shifts!  Luckily I have this weekend off and will be able to catch up on some R&R.  Here is what's on my schedule for the next couple days:

1. Yawning.

2. Dozing (minus the drooling).

3. Entering a comatose state.

On Saturday, I will take a break from my rigorous sleep schedule to attend Zach's Military Ball.  It should be a lot of fun (assuming I can stay awake for it).  I will post pics of the event sometime next week.

Etsy Love

I wanted to share some darling drawings from an Etsy Artist based in my hometown, Cincinnati!

Arian Armstrong creates such magical and spiritual scenarios in her works.  Some of these will be hanging in my home someday!

Yes....... I am a Nerd.

I started looking through some of my old pictures and documents on my laptop and I came across this genetic tree that I drew freshman year of college.

The assignment, for my anatomy and physiology lab, was to write a research paper and create a genotype for an assigned genetic disorder.  I ended up getting Hemophilia.  It was by far the best paper I have ever written (A!) and my genetic tree wasn't half bad either!

I have always been fascinated by different health disorders and disease processes.  Maybe that's why I love this show so much.

Luckily, I will be able to utilize this form of  "Nerdiness" in my nursing career, haha!

Jam Session Monday featuring John Butler Trio (plus other news)

Lots of stuff going on here!  I now have a FULL-TIME NURSING JOB!!!!! YAY!!!!!  I should have my first shift this week and I am very excited!!! (Hence, the excessive use of exclamation points)

In other news, Zach started his spring break last Friday and we spent the weekend at his parent's house in Maysville, KY.  It was great to just relax and veg for a couple days.  We took Kipper to Zach's grandparent's farm to let her experience "country life".  She loved it and is definitely a farm dog, hopefully we will have a big yard for her to romp in once we get our own place.

Kipper also saw a horse for the first time while we were at the farm.  It was the funniest and cutest thing ever!  She jumped 3 feet in the air when she saw it and all of the hair on her back stood up.  She looked like a furry stegosaurus!

Enough with the news, here is the playlist for the week.  John Butler Trio is one of the best folksy-rock bands I have ever heard.  John Butler (the lead guitarist and vocalist) is amazing and has also produced solo work.  I was introduced to this group by, who else, my brother the music man.  It seems that most of the music I listen to comes from him, haha.  Oh well, if you have to borrow, borrow from the best!

Etsy Love

I have just recently discovered Etsy, mainly thanks to the fact that almost every blogger I follow either has their own shop or is an avid fan :)

Here are some beautiful things I found and links to the shops they come from.

This GORGEOUS vintage dress found here.  If I were in the market for a tea-length wedding dress this would be the one!

An adorable daschund print found at this shop.  It kinda looks like Kipper only with short, stubby legs.

And last but not least, whimsical necklaces from belle hibou.  One of these belongs on my neck.  Maybe in the near future?
